From the President – January, 2012
Welcome Viper owners, VCA members, and the general public to our new Houston Region Viper Club of America Website. This is an exciting time for the Viper Nation and Houston’s Viper community. A 2010 Viper ACR from Houston’s own Tomball Dodge/Viper Exchange reclaimed the Nurburgring record with a blistering 7:12.13. We eagerly await the release of the next generation SRT Viper at the New York Auto Show in April. Locally, we have a variety of club activities with an anticipated two events per month available to our members. As incoming Houston VCA president, I would like to invite you to enjoy your snakes and fellow Viper owners in a variety of activities in 2012.
Our first event of the year is in the books. The rubber fenders were bent, egos were bruised and legends made as members went all out at Track 21 for fastest lap bragging rights. For those that missed it, karts handle nothing like your Viper but they are a ton of fun! We had a good turnout and shared our enthusiasm for speed, setting up a good pass and driving a great line. Congratulations to members Eric Himanga for his victory and Adrian Gonzalez for his close second place finish. On a personal note, our drive from The Woodlands was as enjoyable as the karting. Any excuse to get out in the Viper!
Please come join us on February 18th beginning at 9:00 AM for a dyno day at SeriousHP. I hope to meet you there!
